Dear Friends in Faith,

With the Governor’s order to stay at home to avoid spreading the Covid-19 virus, we are not able to gather for worship or other activities at Faith Lutheran for a time. We have never been in quite this situation, but we know that God is with us, and will sustain and keep us in whatever will come.

We cannot gather together for worship, but we can worship! Sharon Riggins and I, assisted by my family, made a video of worship for us to share. You can open up a bulletin in Word, and watch most of the regular elements of our worship. Click on the worship link, or on sermons at the top to get there. It is a full worship service.

Please do sit down together with your family at the regular time to worship virtually with your Faith Family. This is not perfect, but it is a good way for us to celebrate how God joins us in faith wherever we may be. We will try to keep doing this, until we are able to sit down together once again.

We want Faith Lutheran to continue to be a center for our faith and community. We rely on you to continue to be faithful with your offerings for the church, so that we can continue even if we aren’t there passing the plate in person. If you are able, please mail in your regular offerings, or use the giving link on the new website to give with Tithe.ly. There is more information at that link.

I will miss seeing you in person this weekend. Please call me if you need me, at any time. My home number is 309-745-9282, and the church is 745-9306. Please call and check up on one another. If most of us are stuck at home, we need to use this chance to show that we care, and to make sure that the needs of each one are met. God bless and keep you.

Yours in Christ, Pastor John
